The iconic, Spanish goalkeeper set new marks for wins and shutouts in his country's victories over South Korea and Serbia, Russia Today reports.
Wednesday's win over South Korea was the 95th of Casillas' international career. He surpassed France's Lilian Thuram and Egypt's Ahmed Hassan to become the new leader in that category.
On Saturday, Casillas broke the record for most shutouts in international soccer. The 2-0 win over Serbia was the 73rd time Casillas has blanked an opponent. He overtook Holland's Edwin van der Saar to top the prestigious category.
Casillas, 31, has played 130 times for Spain during his glittering career. At age 18, he became the starting goalkeeper at Spanish giant Real Madrid in 1999. He made his international debut a year later, and has held the job with both hands ever since. "Saint Iker," as he is known around the Spanish capital, lifted both the 2008 European Championship and 2010 FIFA World Cup trophies as national team captain. He's widely recognized as one of the world's top goalkeepers.
