Report: Free Agent Tight End Dallas Clark Visits PatriotsThe Patriots already have a talented crop of tight ends, but could one more be joining the bunch?

Free-agent tight end Dallas Clark visited the Patriots on Tuesday, according to The Boston Globe.

The Patriots already have four tight ends — Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, Daniel Fells and Brad Herman — on the roster, so it’s hard to imagine the longtime Colt landing in New England.

The Boston Globe’s Shalise Manza Young reports that the visit was described to her as due diligence, and that it’s certainly possible that the team hosted the workout as a favor to Clark’s agent.

Clark spent nine seasons in Indianapolis, becoming one of Peyton Manning‘s most reliable targets in the process. His best season came in 2009, when he caught 100 passes for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns while earning a Pro Bowl selection.

Clark was released by the Colts on March 7.
