Swimmer Federica Pellegrini’s Boyfriend to Withhold Sex Prior to London Olympics

The Italian swimmer Filippo Magnini, 2012 European champion in the 100 freestyle and boyfriend of swimming star Federica Pellegrini, told the magazine A that he prefers to limit sex before competition, referring to the Olympics.

"There are athletes who have no problems maintaining relationships even on the eve of the race, but I'm more careful, the day before the competition try to be quiet," said Magnini.

The 30-year-old swimmer, a world champion 100 freestyle in 2005 and 2007, has been dating the Italian star for a year and a half. Pellegrini, 23, was the 2008 Olympic champion in the 200 freestyle.

She is one of Italy's main prospects for a gold medal at London 2012. Hopefully her chances are not hampered by her boyfriend's chaste approach.
