Harvard has had many ambassadors through the years who have advertised the Ivy League school's excellence around the world.
But few would have guessed that one of the university's former basketball players would one day be among the most famous of the school's alumni.
Jeremy Lin, who led Harvard's basketball team before his sudden ascent with the Knicks last season, is now part of a discussion about a co-licensed merchandise line created by Nike that will highlight Lin and Harvard, Bloomberg reports.
Lin already endorses Nike, and Harvard is already first among Ivy League schools in the money it makes off of merchandise, according to Bloomberg. The partnership would showcase Lin on Harvard's platform while promoting Harvard around the world, especially among Lin's Asian fan base.
Lin, who bounced around several NBA teams before suddenly breaking out with the Knicks last year, signed a three-year, $25 million free agent contract with the Rockets this offseason after New York declined to match the offer.
