Philadelphia 76ers rookie Joel Embiid has one of the most entertaining Twitter accounts in the NBA — or, at the very least, one of the most ridiculous.

Here’s a small sampling of the Kansas product’s recent tweets, all from within a two-hour span Tuesday night:

Oh yeah, Embiid loves tweeting about Rihanna. And Kim Kardashian. And about how he’s done tweeting ridiculous stuff and ready to be a professional, which he tends to do once every few days.

It’s all pretty hilarious, but one might assume that 76ers management might not see it that way. That’s apparently not the case, however, as Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie told reporters Tuesday that he’s fine with Embiid’s online persona.

“I told him I want him to take over my Twitter account,” Hinkie said, via The News Journal. “Maybe my followers will pick up. I think I’m at 20 or so right now.”

Hinkie said there is a time and place for social media hijinks, and that he believes the first-round draft pick will know where to draw the line.

“I think he’s, for a Twitter newbie, I think he’s found the line in a way that is entertaining and people have had lots of laughs,” the GM said. “Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of February or late in March or in the middle of a road trip where some of that humor doesn’t go over quite as well. He’s adjusted pretty well so far.

“Maybe he’ll touch the stove and get burned a time or two, but I think he’ll find his way and be fine. But you can be assured it is the sort of thing we talk about.”

Embiid might have a lot of time on his hands to tweet this season. He’s recovering from foot surgery and likely won’t make his NBA debut until next fall.
