Kevin Love isn’t the only Kevin Love to be traded to Cleveland.
The NBA star finally got his wish to get out of Minnesota when he was officially sent to the Cavaliers over the weekend as part of a three-team blockbuster trade. But that’s old news. Now, aquariums trading the name rights to an octopus named “K-Love” is all anybody’s talking about — well, a handful of people, at least.
The SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium at the Mall of America traded the naming rights to the octopus to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. No, really, SEA LIFE Minnesota even sent out a press release to announce the breaking news.
In exchange, Cleveland will surrender the naming rights to its Pacific octopus, Ocho. But according to the press release, SEA LIFE will be changing that name to something that will honor Andrew Wiggins, the biggest return in the trade for Minnesota, and their brainstorming is already off to a promising start.
“Sqwiggins, Iggy, or A-W are some of the names already being tossed around for SEA LIFE Minnesota’s new athletic octo-playmaker,” the press release states. “The octopus will also be working on matching Wiggin’s skill set by practicing epic dunk skills with submerging his food with a 360 degree flair, and enhancing his defense by inking any potential opposition.”
