On Tuesday, the Washington Capitals revealed their logo and uniforms for the 2015 Winter Classic. Appropriately, this ceremony took place at Nationals Park, where the game will be played on New Year’s Day.

If you were expecting red, you would be correct. If you were anticipating a red version of the jersey worn in the 2011 Classic at Pittsburgh, you shouldn’t become a psychic.

This jersey includes elements of the uniforms the Capitals have worn for the past several decades. The stars and team name have been included in many variations of the Caps’ jerseys. According to the Monumental Network, the deep red color is meant to represent the team’s roots in Washington. The large blue “W” on the front combined with the white “Capitals” wordmark and silhouette of the Washington Monument is a new design unique to this jersey.

Jerseys will be available to the public in mid-November, but preorders begin on Oct. 3.

The Chicago Blackhawks have not yet revealed their look for the Classic but are expected to do so soon.
