Georgia running back Nick Chubb suffered a gruesome left leg injury on the Bulldogs’ very first play from scrimmage Saturday.

The Heisman contender gained a modest two yards on the play before being knocked out of bounds by a Tennessee defender.

You can see a video of the injury here, but be warned: It’s very graphic.

The No. 19 Bulldogs ruled Chubb out for the rest of the game after he was carted off the field. According to CBS’ Allie LaForce, the running back even lost consciousness.

Georgia coach Mark Richt addressed the injury during an interview with LaForce at the end of the first half.

“We all love Mr. Chubb, Nick, and we’re sad that he’s hurt,” Richt said. “But I think that he’s going to be OK in the long run, which is great.”

Georgia lost the game 38-31.
