The world mourns the 50 lives lost Sunday in the deadliest mass shooting in United States history.
Armed with multiple weapons, Omar Mateen opened fire around 2 a.m. ET early Sunday morning at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando. Authorities said the 29-year-old shooter killed 50 people and wounded 53 others before police killed him.
As word about the attack started to spread, athletes and sports teams throughout the United States tweeted condolences to those impacted.
