ORIGINAL STORY: The Texas Rangers have added another bat to their lineup by trading for New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran about an hour before Monday’s non-waiver MLB trade deadline.
The price for the Rangers was steep.
Dillon Tate was the fourth overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft. Passan reported the Yankees would get more in the deal, too.
Jack Curry reported the other players going to New York.
Beltran is batting .304 with 22 homers and 64 RBI this season, but even more importantly for the American League West-leading Rangers, he owns a .332 average with 16 homers and 40 RBI in 52 career postseason games.
