CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Major League Lacrosse commissioner David Gross put it best.
"The MLL All-Star Game is the most relevant All-Star Game in sports," he said at a media reception in Faneuil Hall on Wednesday night. "It's the only one with heart."
Truer words have never been spoken.
The pregame scene at Harvard Stadium on Thursday night is unlike anything you will ever see at an All-Star event.
Droves of fans packed the blocks surrounding the stadium, taking part in the many events that constituted the "Fan Zone."
You wouldn't have even known that it was an overly hot, muggy night in Cambridge. There were smiles on everybody's faces, some of which were painted with red, white and blue.
And as the players were being introduced, running out onto the field through a pack of eager, young kids, the energy was palpable.
Boston Cannons midfielder and Team USA player Paul Rabil said that lacrosse fans are the most passionate in the world.
Judging by the look of the crowd at the MLL All-Star Game, it would be tough to argue with that.
