Angels Acquire Right-Handed Pitcher Dan Haren From Diamondbacks In a somewhat surprising turn of events, the Angels — not the Yankees — acquired prized right-handed pitcher Dan Haren from the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Haren is on his way to Anaheim in exchange for Joe Saunders, Patrick Corbin, Rafael Rodriguez and a player to be named later.

According to reports, the player to be named later will likely be a prospect. Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman said on his Twitter page that the prospect would come from a 'short list.'

Jeff Passan of Yahoo said on his Twitter that the prospect would not be 2009 first-round pick Mike Trout.

Many thought — even as late as this weekend — that the Yankees were the front-runners to acquire the starting pitcher.
