It may have been a rough week from the Red Sox, but they continued to get a glimpse into the bright future of the back of their bullpen with the performance from Daniel Bard.
For his performance, Bard was voted by both Jerry Remy and the fans as "Top Dawg of the Week."
The young righty was one of the lone bright spots for a week that saw the Red Sox go 1-5.
Bard pitched posted a 2.45 ERA in 3 2/3 innings this week while only surrendering four hits. Bard's numbers on the season remain incredible, too. Sitting at just under 70 innings for the season, Bard has an impressive 1.80 ERA and has proven to be a reliable bridge to closer Jonathan Papelbon.
The unanimous decision of Bard for this week's contest marks the first time this season that both the fans and Jerry Remy have decided on the same player for "Top Dawg of the Week" honors.
Bard picked up 44 percent of the fan's vote.
