Tom Brady, Patriots’ Shocking Loss to Jets Featured on Upcoming Cover of Sports Illustrated

This is probably not how Tom Brady wanted to break the record of most Sports Illustrated covers by a football player.

Four days after the fiasco in Foxboro, Sports Illustrated has unveiled one of two regional covers for its upcoming issue. Unfortunately for Patriots fans, one of them is of Tom Brady.

What is unfortunate is that he is not throwing touchdown passes, riding a scooter in the Commons or  even cradling baby goats on the cover. Instead, he appears panicked, shocked and overwhelmed while Jets linebacker Calvin Pace tackles him to the ground.

The photo outlines the biggest problem the Pats had with the Jets — dealing with the defensive line. You can even see Matt Light missing a block in back of Brady, a common theme throughout the ordeal. The Jets sacked Brady a total of five times throughout the disappointing 28-21 defeat.

Nonetheless, this cover represents the 24th Patriot featured on the cover, which is good for sixth among NFL franchises. If the photo counts for Brady, he surpasses Joe Montana with 14 SI covers.
