Luis Suarez has scored twice in his relatively short time with Liverpool, and while he appreciates the overwhelming support he's received thus far, he's not nearly ready to celebrate any accomplishments.
"I think the fans at this club play a major role — bigger than at some other clubs," he told LFC Weekly, according to ESPNsoccernet. "But there are a lot of games and there is a lot of time to go before I am a real hero. It's too early for that."
The 24-year-old joined Liverpool in January for a massive fee of £23 million ($36.76 million). He scored in his debut for the Reds, and he was just named LFC Player of the Month for March, a month in which he scored once and assisted on two other goals.
It was an award he accepted humbly.
"It is a surprise to win this prize so early on because I have only been here for two months, but this award is really for the whole of the team and the hard work they've all put in," Suarez told Liverpool's official website.
The early accolades aren't likely to derail Suarez's focus moving forward.
"I've only been here just over a month and a half and it's good to see the fans are happy,'' he told LFC Weekly. "I came here to work hard for the team and to do my absolute best."
