Osama bin Laden is dead.
In a hideout in Pakistan, bin Laden was attacked and killed by a group of American forces in a firefight that lasted roughly 40 minutes, according to The Associated Press.
“Justice has been done,” president Barack Obama told The AP.
According to officials, bin Laden was shot in the head. Three adult males were also killed, including one of bin Laden’s sons.
Obama said that bin Laden was then buried at sea, per Islamic custom.
“The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done,” former president George W. Bush in a statement.
