Romo reportedly married former Miss Missouri and local Dallas television anchor Candice Crawford, who he has dated since the summer of 2009. Crawford is also the younger sister of Gossip Girl star Chase Crawford.
Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, Dez Bryant and Jerry Jones were among the wedding's 600 guests.
The Dallas quarterback has made headlines in the past for his relationships with singer-songwriter Carrie Underwood and singer-actress Jessica Simpson, both of whom have often been blamed for Romo's inability to perform in the clutch.
During a wild card round playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks on Jan. 6, 2007, Romo made one of the more costly mistakes in recent NFL history with Underwood in the stands. Down 21-20 with 1:19 left in the game, Romo botched the snap on a potential game-winning field goal attempt. He attempted to pick up the ball and run into the end zone following the mishap, but he was tackled at the 1-yard line.
The next season, Romo and the Cowboys again lost their first playoff game. Following the 21-17 loss to the Giants, which was sealed by Romo throwing an interception in the end zone, pictures surfaced of Romo, then-girlfriend Simpson and a few other Dallas Cowboys players partying in Mexico.
Romo's relationships may or may not have been responsible for his inability to elevate his game under pressure, but he surely hopes that his new wedding ring will be accompanied by a Super Bowl ring before long.
