It's not personal, it's just business. Actually, scratch that. It has nothing to do with business, and everything to do with personal choice — the choice of which NHL team you root for, that is.
Boston Metro reports that the Canal Street pub, Hurricane O'Reilly's, is turning away patrons wearing Vancouver Canucks gear during the Stanley Cup Final.
"We have turned a few guys away already," general manager Dan Butler told Metro. "We are just rooting for the hometown guys."
Butler, who ironically was born in Canada, said he is not concerned with any loss of sales his pub may suffer by turning away Canucks fans. For him, it is just a good-natured show of support for the Bruins.
"It's not unconstitutional," said Butler. "It's a hockey game. It's just fun."
But there's no reason for Vancouver fans to despair. Right next door at The Fours they can sit down and enjoy watching their Canucks play, no questions asked.
