Was David Ortiz's Four-Game Suspension Too Tough, Too Lenient or Fair? Well, it was bound to happen. After David Ortiz got into it with the Baltimore Orioles' Kevin Gregg last Friday night, it seemed inevitable that the Boston Red Sox slugger would get suspended.

Now, pending an appeal, Ortiz has been suspended for four games and fined an undisclosed amount.

He will be able to play until the appeal is reviewed by the commissioner's office, as he was in the lineup to start the game on Friday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Some might say that the commissioner's office was too strict on Ortiz, since he whiffed on both of the punches he threw. Others might think that it shouldn't matter if you connect or not when you're throwing haymakers and the punishment should have been tougher. And then there is the Goldilocks contingent who would say the commissioner got it just right.

What do you think? Is Ortiz's suspension too strict? Was it too lenient? Or did baseball get it right and the punishment is fair? Vote in the poll below.

What do you think of David Ortiz's suspension?
