Mark Buehrle is one of the best starting pitchers on the free agent market this offseason, and thus, he'll surely garner a ton of attention from just about every team.
So it should come as no surprise that the Red Sox are among the teams interested in signing the left-handed starter.
Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported Tuesday that the Sox are among a handful of teams showing some initial interest in the 32-year-old southpaw. According to Rosenthal, the Yankees, Rangers and Marlins are also interested, and the Blue Jays could also be in on things as well.
The Miami Herald reports that Buehrle took a tour of the Marlins' new stadium on Tuesday. Signing with the Marlins would reunite Buehrle with his former manager Ozzie Guillen.
Buehrle went 13-9 in 2011 with a 3.59 ERA and a WHIP of 1.295. He also threw 205 1/3 innings, marking the 11th straight season that he's surpassed 200 innings. He's among the league leaders in innings pitched every season.
