Report: Red Sox Fire Strength and Conditioning Coach, Expect to Restructure Team’s Approach

Change continues to come in many different ways to the Red Sox organization.

On Thursday, the Red Sox fired strength and conditioning coach Dave Page as well as assistant trainer Greg Barajas, according to WEEI.

According to the report, the Red Sox plan to restructure the team's approach to training and their medical staff heading into next season.

In his end-of-the-year news conference, then-general manager Theo Epstein admitted that the team's conditioning standards hadn't been met by several players down the stretch. It now appears that Epstein wasn't the only one in the organization who felt that way and saw the need to make a change.

WEEI also notes that Page had been with the team since 2006, while Barajas was a 12-year veteran of the Red Sox organization who was promoted to the big leagues in 2010.
