Sports Illustrated is making another run at television with a five-part documentary series titled Sport in America: Our Defining Stories that will air on HBO in 2013.
The series will analyze national character through sports, according to Adweek. Sports Illustrated will complement the series with features in its magazine.
A representative for Sports Illustrated said creating Sport in America was not an attempt to compete with ESPN's acclaimed 30 for 30 documentary series.
