Report: Delonte West Banned From White House, Will Not Accompany Defending Champion Mavericks to Meet President

Delonte West is apparently not allowed to accompany the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks on their visit to the White House on Monday.

Whatever could West have done to deserve that? Well, this:

West, 28, was arrested in 2009 during a traffic stop for carrying a Remington 870, a 9mm Beretta pistol and a .357 magnum in a guitar case. He pleaded guilty to weapons and traffic charges, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and was sentenced to probation, counseling, electronic monitoring and community service.

"That's what happens when you make bad decisions in your life," West told the Star-Telegram's Dwain Price. "You can't go to the White House."

West, a Washington, D.C., native didn't seem too broken up about it, though.

"I've been there 100 times in my lifetime — I live right around the corner," West is quoted as saying. "I live in D.C. It's going to be a shame the president isn't going to get a chance to meet me. I'm the president of my house."

Delonte West, ladies and gentlemen.
