Liverpool added Danny Ward to its Academy ranks on Monday. Sky Sports reports the 18-year-old goalkeeper is leaving Wrexham FC for Anfield for a modest transfer fee.

“Ward has said he has undergone a medical at the Merseysiders’ Melwood training ground after a reported fee in the region of £100,000 [$157,000] was agreed for him to join the Premier League club’s Academy,” the report says.

Ward is a Wales under-19 international, but has yet to make his debut in Wrexham’s first team. He joined the club at the age of 14, and is in his final year in its youth system.

Wrexham could net additional payments if Ward becomes a regular for Liverpool or Wales.
