Los Angeles Kings Apologize for Tweet Making Fun of Vancouver Canucks

Bad blood can boil over during a long playoff series between two teams. In the case of the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks, however, it came to a head quite quickly, thanks to a tweet sent out by the official Kings Twitter feed mocking Vancouver.

Now, the Kings are apologizing for stepping a little too far over the line.

"We encourage our digital team to be creative, interactive and to apply a sense of humour whenever possible," said Kings vice president of communications Mike Altieri. "To anyone who found it offensive we sincerely apologize."

He did not, however, mention whether the person responsible for the tweet was going to be disciplined.

The Canucks, to their credit, aren't worried about the tweet.

"I don't care about the Twitter world," coach Alain Vigneault told reporters. "I care about the Stanley Cup playoffs. We're going to focus on Game 2."
