Report: Bryce Harper’s High-Five Aggravates Mark DeRosa’s Oblique Injury

Bryce Harper has made headlines for all kinds of baseball feats since breaking into the major leagues earlier this month.

Recently, it hasn't been good news, as Harper sent a bat caroming off his face. He had swung the bat at a wall in frustration after striking out in a game and ended up needing 10 stitches above his left eye.

It appears that the injuries Harper has been doling out haven't just been to himself, though. The young phenom may have furthered teammate Mark DeRosa's time recovering from a strained left oblique muscle.

Harper charged into the dugout after stealing home against the Phillies last Sunday and gave DeRosa a big high-five, and now DeRosa is hurting, the Washington Post reports.

"I don't know if that set back the rehab or not," manager Davey Johnson said. "But I said, 'Why didn't you use your [right] hand?' He said it was spur of the moment."

Harper can do plenty of damage with his hitting, but perhaps he needs to find better ways to channel his otherworldly power.
