When the news first broke on Tuesday that Red Sox players had a team meeting to discuss the abilities and inabilities of their manager, it appeared that second baseman Dustin Pedroia was at the heart of the charge.
Nearly 12 hours later, as Boston left the field at Camden Yards with a 7-1 loss in the books, the All-Star infielder was nothing less than utterly supportive of Bobby Valentine.
"I don't think Bobby Valentine should be fired," Pedroia said after the loss. The team severely underperformed yet again on Tuesday and it seems that more than anyone Pedey understands that reality.
