Kevin Ware, Louisville Teammates Featured on Inspirational Sports Illustrated Cover (Photo)

For all the horror that accompanied Kevin Ware‘s gruesome leg injury on Sunday, plenty of inspiration has come as well.

Ware was assuring his teammates he was fine and telling them to go on and win just moments after he was hurt Sunday. His teammates, while initially shook up, pulled themselves together enough to finish out the game in dominating fashion. An injury that will go down as one of the worst in sports has now become an inspiration to the Cardinals and sports fans everywhere.

Sports Illustrated honored that spirit on one of its regional covers this week. The magazine captured one of the pivotal moments Sunday, showing the Louisville team crowding around Ware before he was carried from the court with the injury.
