Jay Cutler Seems Sick of Being Wimp, Lights Up Steelers Safety Robert Golden (GIF)

Jay Cutler is usually the one getting bowled over. On Sunday, he got to dish out a little pain of his own.

With the Steelers hot on the Bears’ trail early in the fourth quarter, Cutler saw a big gap in the defense on third-and-10 and decided to take off running. The prototypical pocket passer scampered up to the first-down marker before a defender finally met him to make a play, but where the old Cutler might slide down or brace in preparation of the hit, this time the quarterback laid some lumber of his own.

As Steelers safety Robert Golden bore — Bear-ed? — down on him, Cutler lowered his shoulder and pummeled Golden back to the turf. Cutler fell forward on the hit, getting passed the first-down line for a 13-yard gain and keeping the eventual game-clinching touchdown drive alive.
