Canadian Women’s Hockey Team Leaves Inspiring Note In Men’s Locker Room (Photo)

Before Team Canada topped the United States 1-0 in Friday’s semifinal matchup at the 2014 Winter Olympics, Sidney Crosby and Co. walked into their locker room to find an inspirational note that was written by some individuals who know a thing or two about beating the U.S. by one goal in hockey.

Just one day after stunning the United States with a come-from-behind overtime victory, Hayley Wickenheiser, Brianne Jenner and goaltender Shannon Szabados penned a few words to their male counterparts to get them fired up for their big game.

The Herb Brooks-esque pregame motivation certainly paid dividends when Team Canada took the ice. The Canadians used Jamie Benn’s second-period goal and Carey Price’s shutout effort to move past the U.S. and advance to the gold medal game.
