Ray Allen Sends Pierce, Garnett Home With Clutch 3-Pointer (Video)

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett have gotten plenty of good looks at Ray Allen’s 3-pointers in their careers.

This time, they definitely didn’t enjoy the view.

In a cruel twist of fate, the Miami Heat sharpshooter burned his former Boston Celtics teammates Wednesday night when he knocked down a huge three with 30 seconds left on the clock put the dagger in the Brooklyn Nets in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Allen’s Heat trailed the Nets by eight points with less than five minutes remaining but came storming back to narrow Brooklyn’s lead to 91-90 with 48 seconds to go. Mario Chalmers found Allen in the corner 16 seconds later, and the 38-year-old calmly drilled the three to put Miami up 93-91.

The Nets got another chance to tie the score, but LeBron James stripped Joe Johnson as time ran out to give Miami the 4-1 series win.

Both Pierce and Garnett were on the floor for Allen’s three and got an up-close look as the third member of Boston’s Big Three sealed their postseason fate.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

While they have Allen to thank for their only championship ring in 2008, Pierce and KG weren’t exactly in a complimentary mood after their former teammate’s heroics.

“Emotions are too fresh right now,” said Pierce, via ESPN.

Garnett left the locker room without comment.
