Spurs Fan Creates Petition To Keep ‘Tony Romo Curse’ Away From AT&T Center

The legend of the Tony Romo curse is well-documented, and one San Antonio Spurs fan is doing everything in his power to keep the quarterback’s bad-luck streak far away from his beloved team.

Whether it be under center for the Dallas Cowboys or merely attending sporting events, Romo has garnered a reputation as something of a bad luck charm. The Duke Blue Devils, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks and most recently, the Los Angeles Clippers, can all attest to this theory, as Romo’s attendance did not fare well for these teams.

But with the Spurs gearing up to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference finals, one fan turned to the White House to keep Romo from stepping foot inside the AT&T Center, creating a petition to keep the curse out of the stadium, according to Project Spurs.

The petition reads:

“Tony Romo hasn’t been a good luck charm for the Dallas Cowboys. In fact he has been somewhat of a curse in Dallas and for any home sports team he watches from the stands. This is well documented. Just ask Duke, Clippers, Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks even the TNT show Dallas. Here in San Antonio we want our Spurs to win the entire enchilada. Tony Romo will only bring his curse into the AT&T Center and his mojo will make the Spurs lose. In fact we should send him into Russia. That Putin mess would be so over. Please America let’s stand together and stop the Tony Romo curse. Go Spurs go!”

Unsurprisingly, the petition did not gain enough signatures to warrant an official response from the White House.
