Chris Sale Pranks Teammate By Writing Phone Number On His Hat (Video)

Chicago White Sox pitcher Scott Carroll has been getting a lot of phone calls lately.

The rookie was on the receiving end of a prank by teammate and fellow starting pitcher Chris Sale after Wednesday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants. Sale was victorious in the matchup, and when reporters flocked to his locker, he was wearing a blue and white hat with a mysterious phone number written on the front.

The number, of course, was Carroll’s. When asked what would happen if someone called the number, though, Sale simply said: “You’ll see. Give it a call.”

With Sale’s permission, the calls started pouring in, and now Carroll has to decide whether or not to change his phone number.

However, Carroll has since used the prank to his benefit. The hat Sale wore was a Doodle Hat, and Carroll is a part-owner of the company. Carroll apparently changed his voicemail message to an advertisement for Doodle Hats.
