Let the courtship of Melo begin.
New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will kick off the start of free agency by meeting with the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, sources told ESPN’s Marc Stein on Sunday.
Anthony then will travel to Texas to meet with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday morning and the Houston Rockets that same afternoon.
That’s not all, though.
Anthony, who has an offseason home in Los Angeles, is expected to meet with the Lakers next week.
All of that said, the New York Knicks are feeling confident in their chances of bringing their prized star back for next season. The Knicks can offer Anthony $129 million over five years, the most of any team.
Although free agency begins Tuesday, players can’t actually sign contracts with teams until July 10.
