Anaheim Ducks Sign Veteran Forward Dany Heatley To One-Year Contract
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but TSN’s Darren Dreger writes that it is reportedly for $1 million.
The veteran left winger has spent the last three seasons with Minnesota, scoring 47 goals and 102 points with the Wild. But Heatley scored a career-low 12 goals and 16 assists in 76 games in his final season with the club.
Heatley, who was the second overall pick of the 2000 NHL Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers, has amassed 372 goals and 419 assists in 863 career games with the Thrashers, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks and Wild.
Heatley will also take a significant pay cut to join the Ducks, as he is coming off a six-year contract that paid him $5 million this past season.
