Chris Davis feels Moises Alou’s pain.
Davis experienced his own Steve Bartman-style moment Tuesday at Fenway Park. Sure, the stakes were far lower and the fan who took the foul ball away from Davis appeared to support the opposing team. But you get the picture.
Davis chased a pop-up toward the seats along the third base line in the first inning of the Baltimore Orioles’ 4-1 win over the Boston Red Sox. The O’s slugger reached over into the stands, at which point a fan prevented him from making the catch by snagging the ball with his own glove.
The fan even tossed some salt on the wound by celebrating the memorable play right in Davis’ face. It’s been that kind of season for Davis.
