Ryan Lochte: Michael Phelps Made Dumb Decision, ‘Will Become Smarter’ From It
The Olympic swimmer spoke out about fellow Olympian Michael Phelps’ second DUI, and his statement was much more logical than interviews he has given in the past. In fact, he summed up the situation perfectly.
“I’m not concerned…he just makes dumb decisions,” Lochte said, via TMZ Sports. “He has so much money to get a driver. I even have a driver. Just stinks for the sport of swimming. But he will become smarter from this. Luckily he did not hurt himself or someone else.”
Phelps was arrested early Monday and charged with driving under the influence, excessive speeding and crossing double lanes. The 22-time Olympic medalist has since apologized for the incident.
