Sexual Assault Complaint Against Florida Quarterback Treon Harris Withdrawn

Florida quarterback Treon Harris is set to return to the team after being accused of sexual assault.

The school announced Friday that the female student who accused Harris withdrew her complaint, lifting the suspension the University Athletic Association gave the freshman quarterback Monday.

“This means she is not pursuing criminal charges against him at this time but maintains the right to do so in the future,” school spokeswoman Janine Sikes said via ESPN.com.

Harris won’t play Saturday night against LSU, according to Gators coach Will Muschamp, but he will rejoin the team.

“We have been notified that the University and legal process is complete,” Muschamp said. ” This has been a learning experience for everyone involved. Treon has been honest with me throughout the process and is looking forward to rejoining his teammates.”

When the 19-year-old quarterback returns to the field, it likely will be on the road against the 4-2 Missouri Tigers on Oct. 18.
