Kevan Miller Suffers Upper Body Injury During Fight In Bruins-Sabres (GIFs)

Buffalo Sabres forward Nicolas Deslauriers laid a solid hit on Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller in the first period of Saturday’s game, which led to the two players dropping their gloves for a fight just seconds later.

It was the first bout of the season for both players.

Miller fell to the ice and appeared to land on his right arm/elbow at the end of the fight.

He went to the locker room instead of the penalty box after the bout, and the Bruins announced during the first intermission that the 26-year-old D-man wouldn’t return to the game.

The B’s played the rest of the game with just five defensemen.

UPDATE (10:30 p.m.) — The Bruins had an update on Miller’s status after the game.
