Andre Drummond’s Name Misspelled In Equipment Staff Error (Photo)

Whoever was responsible for misspelling Andre Drummond’s name can’t blame this one on auto-correct.

The Detroit Pistons center started Monday’s game against the Chicago Bulls with a jersey that read “D-R-U-M-M-U-N-D” on the back.

Somewhere in the process, the “O” got swapped out for a second “U” and no one noticed until it was too late.

Perhaps it was an omen for the tough night to come.

Drummond had an uncharacteristically bad night in the 102-91 loss at United Center. At the end of the first half, he was 0-for-5 from the field. He put up just two points and fouled out of the game.

At just 21-years-old, Drummond has made an impression as one of the NBA’s top centers, averaging 9.6 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

Drummond did eventually get his jersey swapped out for one with the correct spelling, but for the embarrassed equipment staff, the damage had already been done.
