James Taylor is coming to America’s Most Beloved Ballpark.
Taylor and his all-star band will perform a concert Aug. 6, 2015, at Fenway Park. Bonnie Raitt will be Taylor’s very special guest for the evening.
Tickets to the concert go on sale Friday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. via RedSox.com.
This marks Taylor’s first concert at Fenway, though he has been the selection of the Boston Red Sox and Major League Baseball to perform the national anthem during the World Series in 2004, 2007 and 2013.
Taylor was born in Boston and now lives in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. He is enshrined in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
“James Taylor playing Fenway Park is a dream come true for fans from Stockbridge to Boston,” Red Sox executive vice president/COO Sam Kennedy said, according to a press release. “For this extraordinary native son to perform at Fenway Park, it’s a dream come true for all of us with the Red Sox as well.”
Taylor has sold over 100 million albums throughout his career. He has earned 40 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, as well as multiple GRAMMY Awards.
