ARLINGTON, Texas — Tony Romo surpassed Troy Aikman as the Dallas Cowboys’ career leader in passing yards Sunday.

Romo set the record on his fourth touchdown pass of the game against the Indianapolis Colts, a 25-yarder to tight end Jason Witten. The TD put Romo at 32,961 yards, 19 more than the three-time Super Bowl winner.

Romo, 34, already is the franchise leader in touchdown passes. He was up to 240 after the toss to Witten, 75 more than Aikman.

Aikman still is the franchise leader in pass attempts and completions, but he’s likely to be replaced in those categories, too.

Dallas went on to win the game 42-7.
