J.J. Watt wasn’t the first guy in Houston to wag his finger at opponents, and the original made sure he knew that.

Eight-time NBA All-Star Dikembe Mutombo — who played for the Houston Rockets from 2004 to 2009 — was a Texans honorary captain for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, when he caught up with the All-Pro defensive end. The two appeared to have a little discussion about finger-wagging.

Mutombo actually called out Watt on Thursday out for stealing his signature move. The former center (jokingly) told My FOX Houston that Watt owes him for every finger wag.

“J.J. needs to start paying me, needs to pay some royalties,” Mutombo said. “You can’t just copy somebody without paying.”

Jokes aside, though, Mutombo likes that Watt is keeping the taunt alive.

“To know that the legacy is still going on, I think it brings so much joy to my heart,” Mutombo told ESPN on Sunday. “… He’s having fun out here defensively. He’s letting the world know, ‘Listen, I’m here to play football, I’m happy, I’m doing what Mutombo used to do.’ That’s what life is about.”
