The Ottawa Senators continue to find ways to win, and on Tuesday night, it was thanks to one of the plays of the year.

The Senators continued on their march to the playoffs, defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 in overtime. The win pushed Ottawa’s winning streak to four games, and the Sens have won eight of their last 10 games.

It was how they won Tuesday’s game that was so impressive, though, thanks to Kyle Turris. The 25-year-old forward flashed the skills and talent that made him a top-3 pick in 2007 when he danced through the Carolina defense to enter the zone. Turris stick-handled around multiple Canes before dropping a pass back through the slot for Mark Stone, who finished with the game-winning goal in overtime.

The Sens’ win — paired with the Boston Bruins’ shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres — has Ottawa within four points of the B’s for the Eastern Conference’s second wild card spot. The Senators have a game in hand and host the Bruins on Thursday night.
