Adrian Gonzalez might hit more home runs by the end of April than he did in his entire Boston Red Sox career.

The Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman is off to a scorching start this season after hitting three home runs Wednesday night against the San Diego Padres. The sweet-swinging first baseman’s three round-trippers gives him five through the season’s first three games, making him the first player in baseball history to accomplish that feat.

All of that just happened to come on the night Gonzalez was presented his Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards from last season.

Gonzalez, who’s also hitting .769 to start the season, is now on pace to hit 270 home runs and drive in 378 runs this season, assuming he’s able to keep this up. We’re guessing he just might fall a little bit short of those projected numbers.
