The Red Sox might not win the World Series in 2015. However, there are reasons for Boston to be optimistic about its chances despite finishing in last place in 2014.

The Red Sox started radically revamping their roster last July and it continued into the offseason, with Boston signing sluggers Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval, among others. The club now looks poised to contend for an American League East crown and potentially do damage in October.

Boston proved in 2013 that going from worst to first is possible, as the Red Sox won the World Series just one year removed from an awful 69-93 season. The Sox will have their hands full this season as they look to replicate that effort, but as you’ll see, things are looking up for the hometown team.
