Matt Chatham’s NFL Draft Rules: There Are No Winners, Losers Until Players Play

Every year after the NFL draft, you can expect to hear people complain (or brag) about their teams selecting a player who has never been on the field in a professional game.

You can expect them to lament when their team passes over a player who comes out of absolutely nowhere during the regular season, as if they knew all along that the player would be a surprising star. But these are only a couple of Matt Chatham’s “Things to Bank On in Every NFL Draft.”

The former New England Patriots linebacker compiled a list of “Golden Rules” for the NFL draft on FootballByFootball.com, and there’s a good chance you’ll recognize every one.
