Here’s a look at that special feeling a group has when it finds it out will compete on one of the soccer world’s biggest stages in a few months’ time.

Players from Watford FC were on their team bus Saturday when they learned they had secured promotion to England’s Premier League from the Championship (second division). Watford is the first of three current Championship teams, which will test themselves against England’s best next season.

The bus-bound Watford kicked off their celebrations the moment they learned they had earned automatic promotion to the top flight.

Watford defeated Brighton 2-0 earlier in the day but had to delay their promotion party until other games finished. Middlesbrough’s loss to Fulham and Norwich’s draw with Rotherham meant first-place Watford can finish no lower than second in this season’s Championship standings.

Watford hasn’t played in the Premier League since the 2006-07 season, when it finished last in the 20-team division. Watford’s only other season in the Premier League, 1999-2000, also ended in relegation to the second tier.

Watford will struggle to survive in next season’s Premier League, but this group of Hornets need not worry about that now.

It’s party time.
