Zack Greinke Does Yasiel Puig-Like Bat Flip — While Hitting Double (Video)

Yasiel Puig vowed to cut down on his bat flips, but the same can’t be said for teammate Zack Greinke.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher showed off his flashy side in the seventh inning Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers when he ripped a pitch to deep center field. Feeling like he really got a hold of one, Greinke flipped the bat — much like Puig’s been known to do when he hits a home run and sometimes even when he doesn’t.

The problem, you see, is that Greinke didn’t hit a home run. Granted, he did tag a ball to deep center, but the ball stayed in the ballpark and Greinke settled for a stand-up double.

Feeling pretty good about his batting prowess, Greinke came back to the plate an inning later. Things didn’t go so well, but we were treated to an equally hilarious moment, on a Greinke check swing.

Be careful what you ask for, Zack.

Greinke’s double, though, shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. As far as pitchers go, he’s actually a pretty good hitter. Greinke owns 51 career hits, including four home runs and 12 RBIs in 239 career at-bats.
