EA Sports Destroys Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch With Super Bowl XLIX Joke (Photo)

The Seattle Seahawks were just trying to look out for their running back. Instead, they set themselves up for one of the most epic burns of the offseason.

EA Sports has started to roll out its player ratings for “Madden NFL 16,” which is set to hit stores in late August. The company unveiled its running back ratings Tuesday, and Marshawn Lynch topped the list with a 96 overall rating.

Apparently this wasn’t good enough for the Seahawks, who playfully called into question Lynch’s 98 “trucking” rating.

Bad move, you guys.

Game over.

For those who need a refresher, that’s a reference to the Seahawks’ fateful decision to throw the ball from the 1-yard line late in Super Bowl XLIX, leading to New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler’s interception of Russell Wilson.

To their credit, the Seahawks tipped their caps to the fine troll masters at EA Sports.

So who was behind this malicious takedown, EA Sports?

Yeah, it’s safe to say the video game company won Twitter on Wednesday.
